MONTHLY TAG: The "My Life in Books" Tag πŸ“š✨

1. Find a book for each of your initials.
My initials are C.M.C; for C, I would say "A Chance to Die" by Elisabeth Elliot, which is an excellent, moving biography of missionary Amy Carmichael. This book made a huge impact on me when I first read it years ago, and every time I've reread it, I love it just as much. And then for M, I chose "The Mysterious Affair at Styles" by Agatha Christie, my first Agatha Christie mystery and one of my top ones for sure. Finally, for my other C, there are many options, but I could say "City of Serpents" by Christina Baehr {see review here!), a fairly recent fantasy read that I got very sucked into and really enjoyed!
2. Count your age along your bookshelf: what book is it?
Counting from a random shelf on my bookcase, I landed on...Little Women! This just happens to be my number 1 favorite fiction book of all time. I cannot accurately portray through words how much I adore this book or what it means to me, but I will just say that I've read it upwards of 7-8 times and it is perfect.
3. Pick a book set in your city or country.
I have no books set in my city and many, many books set in my country, so I will choose one set in my state, Michigan; "The All-American" by Susie Finkbeiner {see review here!) a neat, touching story about family, baseball, and not losing hope amidst brokenness, was set in a fictional town in Michigan, and I loved that aspect of the book so much. Two other books also set in Michigna that I enjoyed--by the same Michigan-born author--are "All Manner of Things" and "The Nature of Small Birds"
4. Pick a book that represents a destination you would love to travel to.
Currently, the top places I want to travel to are Indonesia and Cambodia, and I can't think of any books that take place in either of those countries. So, more specifically, I would like to visit Colorado some day, and a book set there that comes to mind is "Hope's Enduring Echo" by Kim Vogel Sawyer {see review here!}, a very sweet historical Christian romance. Additionally, I've always thought it would be amazing if I could travel to the gorgeous Prince Edward Island, and of course, that brings to mind the lovely Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery.
5. Pick a book that is your favorite color.
One of my favorite colors is purple, and a purple book that I can think of is "City of Serpents" (mentioned above). The cover of that book is absolutely stunning!
6. Pick a book that you have fond memories of.
One is "Magic for Marigold" by L.M. Montgomery. While not my very favorite by the author, I distinctly remember reading it for the first time when I was a little girl at our cottage up north in front of the lake. πŸ₯°
7. Pick a book that you had (or are currently having) difficulty reading.
Hmm...There have certainly been a few, but one that I'm actually currently reading is "Christ, Shepherd of the Nations" by Jon Morales. Now, it has been very good and thought-provoking so far, but it is also extremely scholarly and technical, with about as many footnotes as actual sentences. I will be finishing it, however, as the author is my very own pastor, but I just have to take my time and really digest it πŸ˜‚
7. Pick a book on your TBR pile that will give you a huge sense of accomplishment once finished.
That would definitely be War and Peace, which I tentatively hope to start this year or early next year.
8. Tag some bloggers.
Since I wasn't tagged to do this, I won't officially tag anyone, but if you'd like to do this fun tag then please do!!
