 1. What's something you own way too many of (other than books)?

That would probably be artificial flowers and porcelain dolls. 😅


 2. What's something you do for fun that's NOT reading?

I admittedly have numerous hobbies. I've been writing since the age of 8, and that continues to be a primary passion of mine. Another big interest of mine is learning languages- I've been studying Spanish for about 2 years, and am lower-intermediate (B1), and I'm additionally studying Indonesian, Korean, and Khmer (Cambodian). Aside from those things, I also enjoy playing (or trying to play) guitar, piano, ukulele, kalimba and violin, baking, and crocheting. 


 3. What's something special or important on your nightstand that's NOT a book? 

If magazines count as not being books, I have a stack of my Heartcry Missionary Society magazines on my nightstand that are very special to me, but if they DO count as books, I also have my music speaker, my basket of bookmarks, some jewelry, and my rubber bands and interdental brushes. 


 4. What's something you buy at a bookstore other than books?

I don't often buy non-book things at the bookstore, but when I do it's usually something like a gift card or a notebook. 


5. What's a fun gift that you've received that wasn't a book?

Lots of things. I've gotten a guitar, a ukulele, a huge box of chocolates, and a ticket to a Christmas play! 


6. What's a Youtube channel that you watch that's not book related?

Let's see...I watch Reedsy (amazing writing advice), Answers in Genesis ministries, Living Waters ministries, Heartcry Missionary Society, Ellerslie Discipleship, and many Spanish and Indonesian learning channels.

MONTHLY TAG: The "My Life in Books" Tag 📚✨

1. Find a book for each of your initials. My initials are C.M.C; for C, I would say "A C hance to Die" by Elisabeth Elliot, which is an excellent, moving biography of missionary Amy Carmichael. This book made a huge impact on me when I first read it years ago, and every time I've reread it, I love it just as much. And then for M, I chose "The M ysterious Affair at Styles" by Agatha Christie, my first Agatha Christie mystery and one of my top ones for sure. Finally, for my other C, there are many options, but I could say " C ity of Serpents" by Christina Baehr {see review  here! ), a fairly recent fantasy read that I got very sucked into and really enjoyed!  2.  Count your age along your bookshelf: what book is it? Counting from a random shelf on my bookcase, I landed on...Little Women!
